Show Notes:

TerrorVision [IMDB]:

Life will never be the same for the Putterman family in Terrorvision. Stanley Putterman (Gerrit Graham) installs a state-of-the-art satellite dish in his backyard. Through a cosmic accident, a wayward monster’s energy is beamed across galaxies, into the satellite and onto the Puttermans’ television set. The Puttermans don’t notice any changes, only better reception and a strange monster continually appearing on the screen. But when the monster leaps off the screen and into the Puttermans’ living room, terror erupts, as it needs to feed on humans for its survival! [Scream Factory]

The Video Dead [IMDB]:

On a quiet, tree-lined street, evil has arrived in a most ordinary way, an old television set. It receives a single channel, one that not only shows the same film over and over – a horror film where zombies rise from the grave to kill – but also frees the gnarled, evil monsters….and once out, they’re not going back! They like the real world. They’ve already killed five people and want more blood…and a new family is moving into the neighborhood! [Scream Factory]

Congrats on launching the first official episode! You guys have good chemistry which should make for some entertaining commentary. Look, I’m glad you are covering these releases like this TerrorVision/Video Dead because they are films that typically don’t get discussed on other shows. But don’t dismiss The Burning simply because it’s more well known or “been done before”.

Firstly, not everyone has seen that movie or is super familiar with it. I would say that about many of the more *popular* titles in the Scream catalog. Hell, I saw The Burning for the first time in Nov 2010 (thanks MovieLogr) so I enjoy hearing it discussed. Secondly, you’re discussing the Scream Factory release so there are other items to talk about in addition to the film: PQ, audio, extras, packaging, etc. What about those features will convince someone to buy the Blu/DVD?

In fact, I’d love even more discussion about the extras on the release. Many of these movies I’ve seen but what is it about the release would make me want to own it (I don’t often buy movies I’ve seen already or seen a few times). And most of the time it will work and has worked. When I listen to your podcast I’m like, “shit I need to buy this!” So giving ample time to the extras esp. for the more known titles will benefit the audience. Just my 2cents. =)
