HACK-O-LANTERN 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Coming May 9th!!!

Back in high school/community college, there was one title I used to come across quite a bit while I browsed the horror section of my local video store. From the front and back cover, I thought it looked so god-awful that I imagined it would be really fun to watch. The title of that video was HACK-O-LANTERN. Sadly though, I was too chickenshit to take a chance on it, and the video store eventually disappeared along with almost all of them (It’s now a bar called The Pit Stop).

Well, it looks like I’ll get chance to make up for lost time. According to Blu-ray.com, HACK-O-LANTERN (also known as HALLOWEEN NIGHT) is coming back to home video in a 30th Anniversary Limited Edition! Massacre Video will be releasing what will be a region-free Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.

As far as special features, Cinema Arcana revealed some details on their Facebook page, saying the new release will have, “a new 2K restoration from the original camera negative and plenty of worthwhile supplements. Producer Raj Mehrotra shows up for a fresh commentary track, there’s a documentary featurette with stars Gregory Scott Cummins and Katina Garner, some never-before-seen bloopers and outtakes, vintage public access interviews with the cast and director Mundhra, and even more surprises.”

HACK-O-LANTERN is set for release on May 9th. A big thanks to our ever-eagle-eyed pal, Luis Soto, for pointing this one out. Much appreciated.
