Tray Sebastian, son of the film-making duo of Beverly and Ferd Sebastian, has announced the launch an IndieGoGo campaign in April that will raise funds to produce the long-awaited sequel to their cult heavy metal horror movie, ROCKTOBER BLOOD.

Released in 1984, ROCKTOBER BLOOD stars Tracy Loren Sebastian (billed as Trey Loran) as psychotic rock star, Billy Eye, who comes back from the dead after being executed for murder, and begins to kill off the members of his old band. Donna Scoggins, Cana Cockrell, Rene Hubbard, Ben Sebastian, and Nigel Benjamin round out the cast. The soundtrack included a number of songs recorded by the L.A. band Sorcery (who also appear in the film as the fictional group, Headmistress).

Fans of the original cult classic will be able to help with the sequel even before the launch with an “Early Bird Special”, which includes a Special Limited Edition Blu-ray (or DVD) of ROCKTOBER BLOOD! The Blu-ray will be a new master of the 35mm print. In addition, you’ll receive a mini-poster of the original theatrical art, a t-shirt, and the original soundtrack! Your Blu-ray/DVD can either be signed or signed with a personalized message from Billy Eye, himself!

In Honor and recognition of my parents and their film making through the years, this is your chance to help me give something back to my parents, the Creators of ROCKTOBER BLOOD,  film you love so much!   All net proceeds from the Special Edition, release ROCKTOBER BLOOD, DIRECTOR’S CUT DVD or Blu-ray versions will go to support their Charities.

Speaking with The ScreamCast’s Sean Duregger and Brad Hendersen on Episode 95, the film’s director/co-producer Beverly Sebastian laid out the original grand plan for the re-release of ROCKTOBER BLOOD and its sequel, ROCKTOBER BLOOD 2: BILLY’S REVENGE (though as of now, these plans have slightly changed as a Blu-ray option will be offered immediately):

We’re going to a release first the DVD. Then, if we can get our negative back from one of the distributors, we’re going to make a Blu-ray. After that release, we’re going to, in October, have a ROCKTOBER BLOOD festival in selected cities around the country. Possibly four or five. We’re going to put on a special event showing where Tracy will make a live appearance. And then after that, Tracy intends to go in and do the sequel. He and Ben (Sebastian) will be producing the sequel to ROCKTOBER BLOOD, BILLY’S REVENGE!

Beverly and Ferd Sebastian are independent film producers, writers, and directors. Their movies include cult classics such as ROCKTOBER BLOOD, RUNNING COOL, ‘GATOR BAIT, and it’s sequel, ‘GATOR BAIT II: CAJUN JUSTICE. In addition to their film-making efforts, the couple also do non-profit work involving greyhounds in Florida. Ferd has also been an ordained minister since 1999, and runs his own ministry, 2 Jesus.
